I'm teaching myself to crochet!
I saw this pattern for a gorgeous blanket and immediately wanted to make one for Heidi..then I remembered I have no idea how to crochet!
But then I thought of You Tube and figured there must be a mass of tutorials and surely I can work it out?!
After some unpicking and a whole heap of patience I finally got it started and looking good and now I'm on a roll...its the perfect project for working on in front of the fire during the cold evenings we have been having lately!
Especially with no TV. Did I mention that we made a new years resolution to not watch TV for a year? Well, 6 months into it we don't miss it at all and I doubt we will connect it back up at all!

GOOD FOR YOU!!! There was no youtube when I taught myself to crochet...it was strictly books and trial and error. And HARD. Looks like you're doing a wonderful job!
Congrats on the no tv, the only reason I keep mine is to watch Lucy dvd's, lol. I hate tv, except for that and very old movies, back when they were CLEAN!
